Did you know that Japan is called "Nihon" by the Japanese?  That's the true name of their country.  However, they call America "Beikoku" --meaning "Land of Rice!!!" Many countries we know well have a true name, that is not the same as the English word for that country.  We've been calling them the wrong thing, and it makes us appear ignorant.
