Get A Mentor Advice Column
Dear Mentor, I am looking for work after graduation. Why is it so hard? I need a mentor to help me. Do connections really matter more than qualifications? Sincerely, Anonymouse, in Yahoo, CA.
Dear Anonymouse, Connections really do matter. Most job positions are filled through friends, family, and other social connections. Those who get education and do not work lack certain habits and attitudes that employers desire. They are unemployed elite, with unrealistic expectations for high pay and status. A mentor can listen and tell you their experience. You may not like it, but taking any legal work is better than no work. If your character is really top quality, you will be rewarded as people see it. Click to find a mentor in the many sites that offer them.
